Attorney Muschell has been practicing law for almost forty years. Shortly after his admission to the Bar, he was appointed Torrington’s first full time Corporation Counsel. After two years in that position he entered private practice and has engaged in the general practice of law ever since.
Much of his practice involves labor and employment law. He is Torrington’s Labor Counsel and is the Attorney for the Torrington Board of Education. His practice also includes matters related to deprivation of civil rights, harassment, equal pay controversies and the like. He appears extensively before the Connecticut Board of Labor Relations, the State Board of Mediation and Arbitration and the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities.
While emphasizing employment related matters his practice includes most other areas of a general law practice such as real estate and business transactions, wills, contracts, and landlord-tenant matters.
Attorney Muschell is the President of the Connecticut Bar Foundation, the organization that provides the funding for the state’s legal service organizations. He is a member of the Governor’s panel of arbitrators under the Teacher Negotiation Act and a member of the State Board of Mediation and Arbitration. He chairs Torrington’s most recent Charter Revision Commission and was Chairman of the Torrington Board of Education for four of the twelve years he served. He is a member and past president of the Litchfield County Bar Association and of the Connecticut and American Bar Associations.
